Proceso final de mi personaje para el mural de El Rinconcito Ilustrado

Este es el proceso de El barquito, mi personaje basado en una rima tradicional mexicana para el mural colectivo de El Rinconcito Ilustrado. / This is the process of The Little Boat, my character based on Mexican folk rhyme for collective mural of El Rinconcito Iustrado ("The Little Corner Illustrated" but sounds better in spanish lol).

El material: Una ampliación de mi boceto en fotocopia, acrílicos, el soporte es madera, pintura vinílica para el fondo, pinceles que compré en el Centro Histórico. Siempre es bueno poner una base para la pintura: blanco de España o una base de acrílico para darle "cuerpo" a la pintura. Cualquier superficie para pintar necesita una preparación.
Material: An extension of my sketch photocopying, acrylics, wood support, latex paint for the background, brushes I bought at the Center town. It's always good to put a base for paint: white from Spain or an acrylic base to give "body" to paint. Any surface preparation needed for painting.

Después de trazar el personaje, yo empiezo manchando el color y probando la paleta de la imagen.

After tracing the character, I start spotting and testing the color palette of the image.










Yo también uso un lápiz blanco para redefinir los bordes de las olas, ya que éstas tienen una gama de azules y verdes.

I also use a white pencil to redefine the edges of the waves, as they have a range of blues and greens.












Mi paleta de plástico que me gusta usar. / My plastic pallet that I like to use.
















Por supuesto que en el proceso uno usa pinceles planos para poner tonos de base y pinceles más finos para los detalles. / Of course, in the process using a flat brush to put base tones and finer brushes for details.

Yo todavía estuve un rato en la noche ajustando los valores de azules y verdes, aunque siempre es mejor pintar de día.
I still spent some time at night adjusting the values ​​of blue and green, although it is always better to paint at the day.

El Barquito ya en el hospital, esperando para su colocación en el muro. / The Little Boat already in the hospital waiting for placement in the wall.

El maestro carpintero coloca al personaje en el muro, éste queda bien fijado por un buen tiempo. / The carpenter puts the character into the wall, it is well established for some time.

Después colocan el texto en vinyl junto al personaje, es texto es una rima tradicional y ¡voilá! ya está .... / Then they place the text on vinyl by the character, it reads a traditional rhyme and voilá! that's all ....

El texto dice: Barquito, barquito navega despacito, arriba y abajo las olas del mar, arriba y abajo las olas se van ...
Tex says: The Little Boat,The Little Boat sails slowly, above and below the waves of sea , above and below the waves go ...

Después saldrá un post con el proceso de todo el mural con imagénes del trabajo de compañeros de El Rincito Ilustrado, son muchas ya que fueron 6 meses de planeación, reuniones y trabajo.

Solidarity with Haiti


Well I begin my first post of 2010 with this poster (or postal) that I did in solidarity with Haiti, I sent it for a exhibition-sell in Facultad del Hábitat, Sn. Luis Potosí, I hope that my design is there these days...but I want that this brother-country will have the hope and future that any people of this blue planet deserves...we travel together...

Alfredo Aguirre New Graphic Serie



Empece a pensar y trabajar una nueva serie desde diciembre, es gráfica y es en blanco y negro. Son collages digitales, trazos a mano, manchas, viñetas, scracht, caligrafía, textos, pensamientos, fotos, digitalismos, etc. Todo se inspiro en este que hice primero.

La serie también esta basada en viñetas que hice hace tiempo en relación con la literatura, la cual siempre ha sio una fuente de inspiración para mis proyectos personales.

Entonces, este trabajo que se muestra arriba, fue inspirado por un cuento de un escritor europeo. La estética noir es visible. También es la influencia del cine es obvia.

I begun to think and to work a new series in December,is graphic work in black and white. Digital collages, outlines by hand, spots, emblems, scracht, handwriting, texts, thoughts, photos, digitalismos, etc. And everything it was inspired by this work that I did first. The serie was inspired too in relation to Literature, which always is a source of inspiration for my personal projects.

Then, this work that is above, it was inspired by a story of an European writer. The aesthetic noir is visible. Also it is the influence of the cinema is obvious.

The Carmen Aristegui Case

I begin a personal project with a serie of posters or postcards about the more importants events, situations or personages in mexican life in this 2008. My firts image was about The Carmen Aristegui Case

Carmen Aristegui has almost 16 years of experience as an anchor and reporter on leading radio and television programs in Mexico. Nowadays she is the anchor of the news program Aristegui at CNN en Español. Besides she is leader writer for Reforma. She is in general a higly-regarded journalist.

Carmen Aristegui is recognized as an expert on national politics. For over five years, Aristegui hosted the Federal Electoral Institute's special political programming. In 1997, she also acted as an advisor to a civic group involved in the first election for the head of government in the Mexican Republic's capital.

Aristegui has received the Mexican Press Club's "National Award" in 2001, 2002 and 2004, and in 2003 she was recognized as the "Best National Anchor" and presented with a Public Image Award. She was also named "2004 Woman of the Year" by Mont Blanc, and was selected to carry the Olympic Torch through Mexico as part of its global journey to Athens that same year. In 2005, Aristegui received recognition from the National Institute of Indigenous Languages for her promotion of the indigenous languages of Mexico. Latinoamerican Prize Ondas Radio its program At the present time (2006). Etc.

For many sectors of mexican society it's was a case of censorship againts one of the most independents mexican journalists, because Carmen Aristegui following to very importants reports concern about human rights like The Zongolica Case, or the controversial "Ley Televisa", a law that inhibits the competence an perpetuates the power of duopoly coformed by Televisa and TV Azteca, or The Lydia Cacho Case, etc.
